In honor of our nation’s 250th anniversary, I’m setting a goal to post a photograph at least once a week. These images come from my personal and professional portfolio, captured during our travels across the United States. I may not have every state covered, but there should be enough to keep things interesting—we’ll see!
The purpose is simple: to share something positive and express my love for this country. I think we could all use a little escape now and then—I know I can.
There will likely be an emphasis on National Parks, Monuments, and State Parks, but the theme is broadly “Red, White, and Blue.” Most of these photos were taken while Sally and I hopscotched around the country in our RV, and every image is my own.
Let’s see if I can keep this going.
Today, I’ll begin in Washington, D.C., where I was born three-quarters of a century ago. The hospital may be gone, but the Jefferson Memorial still stands—captured here at sunrise.
